(Received 10 a.m.) HELP FOR RTJSSIA. MELBOURNE, this day. In the House of Representatives, Mr. Hughes, in reply to further questions regarding assisting the starving people of Russia, said the Government had suggested to the Imperial Government that a gTeat portion of the meat requisitioned from New Zealand and Australia, and now lying in England, might be made available for relief. He had asked the British and New Zealand Governments if they would co-operate, but replies could not be received for several days. He promised an early announcement on thp question of giving Russians monetary assistance.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
