AUCKLAND BOWLER'S FAREWELL.
FAREWELL
HON. A. M. MYERS ENTERTAINED.; The Hon. A. M. Myers was entertained and honoured by the Auckland Bowlinjr Club this afternoon, prior to his approaching departure for England. There was a large attendance of members of the club. Mr. W. Oulnan, the president, and the oldest member of the club, with half a century's continuous membership, in an appropriate Speech mentioned that Mr. Myers hart been a. member of the Auckland Bowling Club for 25 vcars. and had been president on two occasions. His connection with the club would not be forgotten. Mr. M>ere had always been a. generous, kind-hearted sport, ready and willing at all limes to <lo What, he cbuld in the interests of the club. Mr. Culpan concluded by proposing Mr. Myers a life member of the phib, and Mr. Carlaw. the second oldest, member, with 38 years* connection with the club, also a past president, seconded this proposal, and referred to some of the poeitions held by Mr. Myers in the bowling world. * The nomination was unanimously a.nd enthusiastically approved, and the life members" gold medal was then handed to Mr. Myers by Mr. Culpan. Afterwards the gathering was photographed, and a ninurink farewell fjame was played. Mr. Myers having in his team Messrs.' J. M. Mennie. J. B. Osmond and R. Tuilehopoi while hi* opponents were Messrs. \Y. Culpan, J. Carlaw, J. Thorno and W. Elliott. Afternoon tea iras dispensed at ian interval in the jump.
Mr. Myofs thanked tlic for their entertainment and paid lie appreciated the honour bcetotred upon him.
