TOBACCO GROWING.

i (To the Editor.) > Sir, —For the information of "Butty ,, , *nd others who would like to grow their »wn tobacco, the following are tlic kinds i most suitable for the various districts , of New Zealand: Wairarapa District, Havana; East Coast, Wellington and Bay of Plenty, Virginia: Wanganni Diatrict, Pennsylvania, seed leaf; Nelson District, Connecticut; Canterbury, Slnry•land and Massachusetts. 1 know a gentleman at the North Shore who hae grown and smoked his own tobacco, and his lonj? experience has brought the ruring of the leaf to perfection." Everything depends on the proper curing of the leaf. I believe a company Hastings way has been growing very good tobacco. It only wants smokers to make a firm resolution to boycott the imported tobaccos, and thereby encourage firms to sta.rt growing our own. Can the Chamber of Commerce take up the matter? — 1 am. etc., DHUDEEX.
