HELPING YOUNG CITIZENS

AVONDALE JOINS LEAGUE. Representatives of the Young Citizens' League at Auckland attended a mooting held at Avondalc last evening under the auspices of the Avondale Progressive League. Mr. Tate occupied the chair. The Rev. A. B. Chappell, registrar of the Auckland University College. and Mr. Horace Stebbinjr, organising secretary of the League, spoke concerning the activities of the organisation, and referred to the growth of the movement in this province during the year.' At the conclusion of the meeting it was resolved ' that a branch of the Young Citizens' League be formed at Avondale, with a view to extending the activities among the young people of the district: and it was also decided to call a public meeting on the return of the president of the League, Mr. E. C. Cutten. S.M.. to Auckland in about a fortnight's time to further the objects of the League.
