H. G. WEEES' HOPE. IXJNDON, '(November 22. In an address to the British Women's Patriotic League. Mr. .*.. G. Ashbolt (Agent-General for Tasmania) combated Mr. H. G. Wells' recent jirediction and hope that a century hencr the Empire would have dissolved. He said this was a, vicious senti nent for anyone who cultivated the Brfcish people's support and lived under the- Crown's pr.tection. Mr. Justice leases, who -presided, said if Mr. Wells had been reprß-tsrl rightly, he could only say he entirely misread the signs of the thr»*9.
