THE MABTON MEETING. SOME INTERESTING RACING. THE HAWK BEATEN. BIG DEQRiEASU IN "TOTE. ,, The Marton Jockey Club's Spring Meeting was held yesterday in perfec.wetter, but the attendance, although good, fell a lot short of previous years. Te Toa winding up favourite, about two hundred and fifty pounds better fancied than Tatton Park, a little money also coming for Pa-werewere and Golden G-ladc. Ore Ore went out fast but was soon headed by Tatton Park, which, after ihavfrig a life at the brush fence, three furlongs from home, fell at the stand double, while Oolden Glade name to grief at the fence at the head of the straight, at which, obstacle Flying Camp ran off. Sarland finished -well find got fourth, and then came Kilgour Molyneaux, Penury I'.ose, Demos. Strategy Rouen and Kareao, with White Blaze last. ONLY A QUA'RTETT. Only a q-nartet came out for the Rangi- . tikei Steeplechase, The defections being Oakleigh, Te Toa, Tlrau. and Gaekwar. Umahu wound up at a fairly short price, witJi Mattock. First Line and Gay Boy fancied in that order. 'Mattock only got as far as the double in front of the stand, when he came to grief at the first fence and then Gay Boy. First Line and Omahu had turns at making the pave. Gay Boy was in front going along the back tlie last time, the trio being all hard at it.
