SIR WILLIAM HERRIES.
QUESTION OF PORTFOLIO. DEPENDS ON MR. MASSEV. TAURAXGA, Tuesday. Sir William Herries arrived at Tauranga to-day from Tc Aroha and Waihi, several deputations waiting upon him to-night. He will he accorded a public welcome to morrow, and leaves Tauranga for Rotorua on Thursday. In the course of an interview Sir William said lie was still a mcmlicr of the Cabinet. Whether he would take up any portfolios would* depend upon the decision of Mr. Maspey after his return to the Dominion. Ho"had definitely decided to contest the Tauranga seat at the next ..-lection.
