It docs ' not, however, follow that the new make - of Xew Zealand butter, which will arrive * in London in November, will realise no ' 1 more than the current rates. New butter ' will arrive at the beginning and all •' I through the Northern winter, and up to ' : April sales are confidently expected to ( realise a consistent equivalent of 2/ to * 2/1 a ft, f.0.b., in bulk. 1 i The Government butter, referred to in ' a cablegram published to-day as having ' been reduced to 242/ a cwt, was old butter that had been long in store. It is I ' understood that all offers for the pur- i ! chase of new butter for shipment over- I seas have now ceased, and thus practi- < cally all the exportable surplus will go i .to England on consignment. The Van- i ! couver market will also be kept in view, i The- local wholesale price for butter < ! to-day is 2/11 per lb In pate and de- i I livered, Retail business is being done at 1 ! up to 2/3 in Wellington.
