Maitland, Chief of the IHriti.sh Airship Service, who was on U3B when the disaster happened, was found with his hand still on the control rope. He died like a hero, trying to save his ship. He was shockingly injured, his clothes being , blown off his lower limbs. The forepart of the airship has been raised.
