WAGES OR BONUS?
WATERSIDERS- DISPUTE. BEFORE ARBITRATION- COURT. i.By Telegraph.—Press Assoriu-tioTi.) WELLINGTON, Monday. Important questions were referred to the Arbitration Court by the Wellington Waterside Employment Association i?> regard to waterfront conditions and work. The points in fjuestion. which }ia<? already been referred to a committee of representatives of the Waterside Workers' Federation and the employers, were whether the payment of an additional Id an hour to waterside workers was to be reparded as part wages or as a bonus, and as to whether the number of men in a meat gang included tho«e men employed on stages in the hold delivering meat t>y sheets to the place of storage. The committee was unable to arrive at any decision. The subject was arpued at length, the employers holding that the extra payment was a war bonu*. The Court considered the matter today and then adjourned.
