"ONLY FAMILY TIFFS."
AUSTRALIANS HAPPY. EXAGGERATED REPORTS. LONDON, August 22. As a result of Press cables to London ' indicating the publication of stories of ' quarrels among the Australian Eleven I against Armstrong, aud specially on be- ■ half of Mayne and Ryder, a special repre--1 sentative communicated immediately with Mr Syd. Smith, who replied: 'There is no truih in the statement that the j members of the team are quarreling. They are a happy family." It is pleasant to receive this reassurance that the family is now happy, since there k no doubt that there were some family tiffs during the tour, as indicat!ed in a previous message, though the ! reports published in a section of the • Press appear to be exaggerated. 1 It has been suggested that Oldtield has ' also had a bad spin, though personally ' he has not complained. It was gathered 5 while the team was in London lu~t that ' some of its memhers were rat'n'r «.ore, r but it is not justifiable to say that disj sension reigned in the team a~ a whole.
