MUST PAY FOR LUSITANIA.
AMERICAN "WAR LOSSES. SATISFACTION OF CLAIMS. (Received 2 p.m) WASHINGTON, August 29. The alien property custodian has announced that Germany must pay for the American lives lost in the Lusitania and satisfy all other American claims for war losses before German property held in this country will be returned. The claims" include £60,000,000 in connection with the Lusitania and £50,000,000 for maintenance of the United States army of occupation. The value of German property held in the United States has depreciated, the present estimate being £80,000,000.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
