DAVIS CUP CHALLENGE
AMERICANS READY. XEW YORK, August 29. The New York "Evening Telegram," commenting editorially on the result of the final round of the Davi* Cup contest, remarks: "Australasia, with all its memories of Brookes, Wilding, and Patterson, was forced to bow to the little brown men in the last stage of the quest for the cup, but they made a gallant effort. Congratulations are due to the Japanese for their sturdy stand. Vnrle Sum's ready for them." —(A. and X.Z.)
