SKINS AND HIDES.
TO-DAY'S MARKET. The fortnightly skin and hide sale was held to-day. There was a full attendance of buyers, and for sound hides there was fairly good competition. A few picked •ox hide 3 made up to 12Ad per lb, heavy to Od. medium from M to 7d. light from 4sd to sd, '-ow about :i?d. Kip> and yearling advanced, selling up to 12Jd for best: hilt therr was a decided drop in the values realised for calfskins, the prices being about 3d per Ib lower than recent values. For n piekei! line of ■washed calf the best offer was 13d. and the best offer for ordinary good oalf wag ]/. Cut. damaged, and faulty hides sold at from Id to 2d per lb.
