CHARGES AGAINST YOUXG MAN, j The third trial of a young man named Cliarles Joseph de Lucca (Mr. Cahill) for 1 the alleged theft, and receiving of stationery, valued at £0 11/6, and 144 I fountain pens valued at £ISO. the pro--1 perty of Collins Bros, and Co.. Ltd., I which opened befpre a jury sitting under 'Mr. Justice Adams at the Supreme Court I yeaterdav, was continued to-rlay. In the two previous trials last May the jury failed to disagree.-* The Crown Prosecutor, Mr. V. R. Meredith, stated that the accused was employed by Collins Bros., and that the case for the Crown was that another employee named Peake, who had been I sentenced on certain charges, had cup- ■ plied de Lucca with the articles in ques- ! tion. When Peake's admissions had been i read over to the prisoner he had agreed that the facts were practically all correct. The case for the Crown was concluded thia forenoon. No evidence was called for the defence. (Proceeding.}
