' of that nationality resident there ac--3 cording to the census of 1010, has fairly n liberal exemptions for the admission of 3 the travelling public, visitors and pro- * fessional people. c Persons who are not considered in reckoning the percentage limits, are 1 Government officials, their families, ats tendants, servants, and employees; 42) ", aliens in continuous transit through the United states; (3) aliens lawfully c admitted to the United States who later " go in transit from one part of the * United States to another, through foreign contiguous territory; (4) aliens * visiting the United States as tourists, * or temporarily for business or pleasure; (SI aliens from countries from which immigration is regulated in accordance r with treaties or agreements relating solely to immigration; (6) aliens from so-called barred zones, as described in section three of the Immigration Act; (7) aliens who have resided continuously for at least one year immediately preceding the time of their admission to the United States of America, in the Dominion of Canada or other adjacent territories: or (8) aliens under the age I of 18, who are children of citizens of the United States. [ In the enforcement of the Act pre- , ference is given to the relations of _ United States citizens: also aliens who , have aplied for citizenship, especially , those who served with the American forces. Nationality is determined upon the country of birth, and the amendment to the Act continues in force until ' the end of July, 19_-.
