Minnie Harris, aged 53, was convicted and ordered to pay fl 0/6 costs on charges of drunkenness and the theft of two pumpkins from the verandah of a Hindu hawker in Grey Street. Claud McQuoid, a taxi driver, 10 years of age. borrowed a motor from the" Victoria Street rank on the night of July 14, and did not return it to the owner until 2 a.m. the next day. Mr. Endean, who appeared for the accused, who was charged with converting the car to his own use. described his act as "the silly prank of a nrodern youth."
