A dispute regarding wages came before Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M.. The plaintiff, Donald M. McDonald (Mr. E. Tliiirlow Field) sued Barney Bodle, contractor of Manurewa (Mr. Se:cton) to recover £2 7/ wages alleged to be due as hay pressor. The defence was that plaintiff was not engaged by defendant, but by a man who wn-s doing work for him. Mr. (-uttcn held that defendant was liable for the amount claimed, ns it had not been mado clear that tho plaintiff was engaged by the man for whom the work was done.
