LATE MR. E. K. MULGAN.

MEMORIAL UNVEILED. Warm tributes to the personality of the late Mr. E. K. Jlulgan, and eulogies of Ms work in tliQ cause of education, were paid by various speakers this afternoon, at the unveiling of a large memorial photograph of the former" Senior Inspector of Schools for the Auckland Province. Mr. Mulgan joined the service in 1886, and died last year at the asre of 62, after 34 years spent in the cause of education.

The memorial was unveiled by Mr. E. C. Banks, chairman of the Auckland Education Board, who paid the chief tribute to the deceased officer, and other references were made by Professor S«rar, of Auckland University College; Mr. Garrard, the present Senior Inspector of Schools; Mr. Purdie. secretary to the Education Board; Mr Wells renrosenting the teachers; and Mr. Cousins principal of the Training College.
