Armour and S. H. Fry, | two leading amateurs. The match was j all squared at the eighteenth and again ' at the thirty-sixth holes, and it was de- i cided to play eleven extra holes. Xhey ■ were again all square at the forty-third. I bat the amateurs won the next two and ! halved the next, winning by two up and I one to play. > Kirkwood did not reach the top of his ! form, his driving frequently being wide. I and he has not mastered the undulating greens. Nevertheless he completed the rounds in 7:j and 71 compared with a bogey of 78 and Taylors record of 06.
