BRITISH SATLORS' UNION RTJXES. OBJECTION TO CHINESE. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, April 21.
With reference to the Brisbane seamen's protest against the inclusion of Chinese and Japanese in the union, the Australian Press Association learns that the British Sailors' In ion possesses no colour bar rule, but though it has admitted a few Japanese it alwai's excluded Chinese on the ground that it "was unfair to accept their subscription when the union's policy consistently v aimed at the exclusion of Chinese from British ships. ( .\. and N.Z. Cable.) SIBERIAN GOVERNMENT. AN AMERICAN INQUIRY. XEW YORK, April 21. The Washington correspondent of the "New York Times" reports that it i.i officially stated that an American mission beaded by the commercial attache to the American Embassy at Tokyo will shortly lie sent to Chita, Eastern Siberia, for the purpose of observing conditions there. It is not determined whether the mission, which will have a military member, is in rospi-nse to Chita's recent requests for American recognition. It is felt, however, that the United States Government will probably formulate a policy toward Siberia which will be distinguished from its known Russian policy.—(A. and N.Z.)
