A DISCOURTESY TO INDIA. LORD AMPTHILL'S GABLE. i (Received 11.30 a.m.) DELHI, March 27. Sir Frank Carter, on behalf of the European non-officiai members of the Indian Legislature, cabled to Lord Ampthill, President or the Indian Emergency Committee in London, deprecating the formation of such a body. Lord Ampthill replied, "Mind your own business It cannot hurt you that England should know the truth. Englishmen will not stand anything else," The European community is furious at Lord Ampthill's studied discourtesy and foolish cable. Sir Frank Carter is a leading man, who remained in India to take part in public affairs after retiring from business. He was sheriff oi Calcutta recently. The Press unanimously condemns Lord Ampthill because Sir Frank Carter Is the mouthpiece oi responsible European opinions. The papers consider Lord Ampthill is stirring up racial hatred —(A. and N.Z.
