The Japanese cutter Misaki arrived in Suva ve.sterday. nnJ brings news of the recent hurricane which struck the more southerly ir-land- of the I.au or Windward Croup of the eolon_\. A four-feet tiilal wave swept Olio and Ongea. while those island- and Mmtiika and \"atoa sulfcred very severely from the hurricane. I'ractically not a cocoanut tree escaped. On Ono only four or five houses were left standing, ami on Vatou all arc down. Three ctitters are reported lost, while the new cutter. Tui Dno. of Z\ tons, was carrier! by the tidal wave right inland, and now lies raarooned~in the bush. No lives are reported lost, but there is great scarcity of food stuffs, but a (Government supply cutter is already there with biscuits and other food.
