Mr. Murray, who was first rtiajrman of tie branch. Is higiilj esteemed by members, and regret was expressed at hU approachInz departure from Auckland. Mr. A. J. Baker,, a former member or 'the branch, w-ho succeeds Mr. Murray at An-cUlaud, was present at the meeting, and a very hearty welcome was extended to him. A paper entitled "Notes on TramcaT Wheels, and their Relation to the Track," was submitted by .Mr. F. R. do Guexrier, and a most interesting discussion ensued. Mr. W. A. Gray snbmitted a paper entitled "Sewage Treatment Works at Salisbury, ■England," discussion of which was deferred until the next general meeting of the branch, which la to be held at Auekiand Iα April.
