A disastrous i&re swept a flax swaajn of 2000 acres between Maukoro ajrf Pat«tt)Bga on Sunday, and destroyed flax valued at £10.0 CO. The property t, owned toy the Government, and consiett of three sections averaging 500 acre* each, leased to Messrs. Dalziell Bros, o< Tahuna, iHrm-ter 'Bros., of Patetoag* and Mr. "E. L. Broad, of Palmerstoa North. The fourth section ie not y«t leased. The Sre is supposed to have been caused hj spafke from neighbouring farms.
