HIGH PRICE OF DEATH.
LONDON, January 15. The question of which is the cheapest country to live in has often been discussed, but a quaint document has reached London which shows that Red Russia is the dearest to die in. It is a j bill for funeral expenses sent to the ! executors of 'an Englishman buried in Russia, and the items totalled 2,426,650 roubles, which is equivalent to £252,776 at the pre-war rate of exchange. One item "To mourning handkerchiefs" 50,000 roubles appears on the credit side of the account. However, it mentions that £5 in gold is eaual to 725,500 roubles.
