HEAT WAVE IN ADELAIDE.
TWENTY-THREE DEATHS. ADELAIDE, December 27. During ft heat wave there were 23 , deaths in the city, including 20 on Christmas Day. It is considered that half of them were due to the heat. Several cases of apoplexy are reported.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.) 14 DEATHS IN MELBOURNE. (Received 8.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. During the week-end the heat wave was responsible for 14 deaths in the city.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
