DESCENT ON THE SEA.
SEAPLANE EM ROUTE TO ROTORUA. OBLTOED TO ABAX-DON TKHP. A seaplane, piloted by Mr. Boult,and having a gentleman passenger O/Uoaxd. came down on the swface of thy sea near (Vwes Bay early this morning ©win;; to engine trouble. The plane was en route to Rotonia from the seaplane station at Koliimarama. It left there at 5.30 a.m., and liad made, about 30 -miles of its voyage when the engine developed a defect. The pilot brought the craft down to the water to make an 'inspection, but be speedily found that repairs were not possible. A launch in the neighbourhood towed the plane from {'o-wes Bay back tt> Auckland. It was intended to make the trip to Rotorua via Tauranga.
