I I The theft of about £-">0 worth "f electric appliances and fittings was discovered at the warehouse of the Silverton Electric Company's warehouse in Gore Street on Monday morning. It , was found that the premises hnd been entered by a door at the front lending ito the lift. The door was secured b\ a 'padlock, and the padlock had had the top cut off by a hack saw, and once entry had been thus obtained the intruripr= had taken the lift to the second floor, where the Silvcrton Company's warehouse wa a , . and the goods had apparently been taken down by lift. Inquiries indicated that a motor bicycle and side-car had been used for transporting the stolen material ' away. In consequence of inquiries made by Detective Serjeant Hammond and Detective Meiklejohn yesterday thrr arrested two men. Horace Davis "(2R) and Arthur Ernest Coham (M), who wore in business in a shop on Mount Eden Road at Eden Terrace as working- electricians. In the shop was found a quantity of material which is alleged to he identifiable as the goods taken from the Silv.-r----ton Company's warehouse. Both men <-ame before Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., to-day on a charge of breaking and entering and theft, and wore remanded on , bail till Monday-.
