THE AU6_RAI_VSIANS AGAIN. 'IOTSER-STING RESULTS. CARJI-VAL AT TEFTXXS. The Australian swimming team were again before the public eye at the Tirpld Baths last night, when a large crowd attended the gala held by the Auckland Swimming Centre. Miss Baurepalre nnd Messrs. F. Bauropalre, X.. Kixklanil, and W. Herald make up the Australian party, and. they were seen last evening to better <wivantage than mc night before. In the Zealaudla Handicap 'Buurepaire swam the 220 Tarda In 2m His, Whleh beats M K. Champion's New Zealand record by 6 2-68. Kirkland's fancy diving also attracted great Interest and applause, and Herald gave a n_e exhibition of swimming. Miss Beaurepalre won ihe ladies' diving ••ompetitlon. but Miss P. Iloeft beat her lv 80 seconds over tbe 100 yards. The Australians were naturally handicapped in the ordinary events on their best times, and ln one or two of the beats they swam great races, being beaten by Inches only. In the .VI Yards Invitation, Enwright and' I>-n. Kronfeld swam against Klrkland. and the ril.sra_ce was covered in 27 -~iß. I-ast night he and iHerald beat the two Anckl.inders over the same course in -i seconds. In the relay race Australia had It all over the local team, and won with comparative ease.
