THE DEVEXI3H SHIELD. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) OAMARU, Tuesday. The results of the shooting championship for cadet un'ts of all the secondary schools of Xew Zealand for the Dcvenish Shield are to hand. The competition was for a team of eight to fire three separate practices at 200yd-.. 300 yds, and 500 yds. The 'Jirst practice was snapshooting (five shots), the second practice rapid firing (six shots), and the final practice deliberate (five shots). The following are the results (possible 47_): — Waitaki Roys* High School .... 37."> New Plymouth Boys' High School W.f Hamilton Boys' High School 313 Napier 'Boys' High School 303 Auckland Grammar School .... 290 Wellington' College •• 274 .Marlborough High School -230 This is the first competition for the trophy and the 'Waitaki Boys' High School will hold tbe shield for one year. Sergeant J. J. IRrownlee and Sergeant S. Allan both of the Waitaki team, each with a score of 52 out of a possible 59, headed the list for Xew Zealand.
