FAT STOCK SALES.
DOWNWARD TENDENCY
Alfred Buckland and Sons report that to-day at their vyeekly Westfield fat stock market they penned beef to the number of 306 head, comprising 214 steers, 80 cows and heifers, aiid°th.ee bulls. The demand and values -were much the same as the previous week, although the market still had a downward tendency.
Extra choice ox sold up to £2 15/, choice and prime ox £2 12/ to £2 14/, ordinary and plain £2 8/ to £2 11/; rough beef, £1 8/ to £1 15 /; cow and heifer beef, £1 16/ to £2 10/. Extra heavy prime show steers ranced in price from £.10 5/ to £37 15/, the*"latter price being obtained for (Messrs. MeaTS Bros. Friesian steers. Heavy prime show steers changed hands at prfces ranging from £25 15/ to £30; other heavy prime steers bringing from £20 10/ to £-23; lighter-price steers from £17 to £20; light prime from £15 to £16 10/; Unfinished and small from £7 to £14; Show cov?s were sold for prices varying from £18 10/ to £30, the latter price being realised for Mr. F. R. Seddon's first prize heifer. This is a record price for a fat heifer at Westfield. Other heavy cows made from £13 10/ to £15 10/; lighter prime cows, £10 to £ 13; others, £o 10/ to £9 10/.
