A DRUNKEN HUSBAND.
DIVORCE COURT SEQUEL.
How drunkenness led to divorce was told to-day in the Supreme Court before Sir Robert Stout in the petition of Mrs. Alice Dorothy Fletcher against her husband, Joseph Fletcher. The petitioner, for whom Mr. Garland appeared, described how her husband frequently left her and got drunk and how her father had to bring him home again. Respondent was drunk two or three times a week. He had struck her, and was four or five times convicted for failure to pay maintenance. A prohibition order against him had been broken, and he was sent to Rotoroa Island for twelve months.
A decree nisi was granted.
