COMPLIMENTARY DINNER.
On Thursday evening, at the Grand Hotel, a complimentary dinner was tendered by the departmental managers and travellers to Mr. A. N. Snedden, local manager for 8.053 and Glendining, litd., on the eve of his departure for Honolulu on an extended holiday. Mr. A. W. Jeavona presided, and in proposing tho toast of the guest, referred to the ihappy relations existing between management and staff, and expressed the sincere hope that the trip, undertaken lor health reasons, will have the desired result in every way. Mr. Snedden, in responding, traced the growth of the local branch from a email begin—in<r to its present position, and acknowledged that the prosperity was in no small measure due to the loyalty and co-oper-operation of his staff. Mr. Snedden, accompanied by Miss Snedden, joins the K.M-. Niagara, sailing to-morrow.
