THE PROFITEERING BILL.
SYDNEY, this day. Mr. J. Dooley, Chief Secretary, speaking at Bathurst eight-hour day dinner, said the Government was prepared to appeal to the people if the Profiteering Bill wore rejected by the Upper House. Mr. Storey, interviewed subsequently, said that lie did not contemplate an early election. He anticipated no oppo-1 sition in the Upper House. In any case the Government would increase the Councils strength before seeking a dissolution.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
