Arnst has two challenges on his deposit for a match with Paddon for the Australian title. Thjji the Evans Headman covered, and the match should be arranged before Christmas. Ripley has challenged Arnst to meet him for a stake. It is expected that when the Paddon-Arnst race is over, the RipleyArnst match will be arranged. Paddon, after a long retirement, reappeared in a j boat at (oraki. As reported in the "Sunday News," his training had been j interrupted by illness during the week, but even then he showed dash and pace!
