The Typhoon, a fifteen-ton ketch-rigger, in which three adventurous Americans, F. \V. Baldwin, of Toronto: W. VT. Xutting, of New VoYk, and J. Bassett, of Washington, crossed from Nova Scotia to England in 22 days. The Typhoon was' built to demonstrate that a small boat properly designed could prove just as seaworthy as a big ship.
