RIVERS IN FLOOD WORST TOR A CENTURY. LOSS OF MANY LIVES. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.! LONDON, October 7. Parts of Scotland have been devastated by wind and rain etorms. The j rivers Dec and Don, in Abcrdeenshire, : are in flood, and the countryside for I miles around is inundated. The floods are reported to be the worst recorded since August, 1829, when the Moray floods occurred. Tho rivers Spey and Findhorn then rose in some places oOft, and caused the loss of many lives und much property. Shipping in Aberdeen has suffered heavy damage. Five drifters and two small steamers were wrecked. — (Reuter.)
