TO COST B/ll IPER ÜB. The new season's butter, which lias been selling for a few days past at 2/10 per lb, will cost the public 2/11 on and after Monday. This higher rate, which, however, hae not yet been sanctioned by the Government, has been fixed temporarily by the dealers themselves, pending the Government announcement on the s rbject some time next week. The cost of butter, to grocers and dairymen is 2/8 pc-r'lb, and they contend that it would not recompense them to sell it undeT 2/311. This does not refer to the old season's butter, which is still obtainable at 1/9 per lb. » It is ant'eipated that the Buttep Commission will issue its report on Tuesday or Thursday, and immediately thereafter the Government will determine the retail price.
