In conversation with the Minister of Education this morning, your correspondent was informed th_t the 'Department had considered plans, which are on an elaborate scale, submitted by the Auckland University Council, and had decided that Mr. Anderson should visit Auckland and confer with the University Council. 'The Department has full cognisance of the -importance to the North of the -institution." said the Hon. C. I. Parr. It is understood that the estimated cost of the new buildings. ba.sed on the proposals of the, Council, will already run into an expenditure of £100,000, and that the whole matter will br-carefully considered by the Department before tangible proposals are submitted to Cabinet.
