PRESENTATION.
At 4.30 p.m. yesterday the official staff at the Municipal Buildings assembled in the City Council- committee room for the purpose of making a presentation to Mr. H. W. Wilson, upon hie retirement from the position of town clerk. Mr. James Carlaw, waterI works engineer, the senior oilicial present, on behalf of the staff, presented Mr. Wilson with a gold wat?li, sovercig-i purse and sovereigns, as a mark of esteem after over 20 years' service. Mr. ! Carlaw ?aid they all regretted Mr. j Wilson's retirement f.--.ni office, and wished Mr. Wilson better health and more happiness in the*future. Mr. W. E. Bush (city engineer), Mr Stanton (city solicitor), Mr. J. S. Brigham (city treasurer) and Mr. Lovell till referred in eulogistic terms to Mr Wilson's good qualities and faithful discharge of his onerous duties. Mr. Wilson thanked the speaksrs for their kindly references to him, and all the donors for the handsome gift they had made him. The gathering concluded : with cheere for Mr. and Mrs Wileon.
