LOWER RATIO OF INCREASE. (Received 11.30 a.m.) WASHINGTON, October 1. The Census Bureau states that the United States is not growing as rapidly as was expected. The population increase for 1910-20 was only 15 per cent, as compared with 20 per cent for the previous decade. The count on September 20 reached 90,586,742. The retardation was more marked in the country districts and the small cities.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
