SUGAR STILL SHORT.
MORE WETTEY-BROWN XEXT <WEEK. Owing to the complete clearing out of stocks of enjrar in the South during the I strike it will take some daye yet t ' overcome the shortage. The Board of , Trade has arranged with the Union Company to take a cargo by the Rakanoa to T-yttelton and Dunedin; the Kamona will I take a shipment to Wellington and 'Nelson, and the Wanaka will be leaving at the end of next week with a shipment for the Bluff. Aβ far as Aucfkland is concerned it is possible that manufacturers will have their weekly quotas next week, but it may be still necessary to have a proportion of raw sugar on the market for the ! ordinary user, and there may be a little difficulty in getting full supplies.
