Reports have been received of terrible persecution in Eastern Galicia by General Petlura, chief of the Ukrainian forces, and Ills men. Hundreds have been killed. Children have been slaughtered before their mothers' eyes, many young girls have been violated, and drunken 0 soldiers poured a combustible liquid over j many Jews and then set them on fire— 1 (Al andN.Z.
