SOCIALISTS EXPELLED
TROM NEW YORK CHAMBER. DISLOYALTY ALLEGED. (Rereivecl 0.30 n.m.) ALBANY (X.Y.), September 22. The. New York State Legislature for the second time expelled five Socialist members on the ground of disloyalty .md anti-American acts during the war. including opposition to military training. The Socialists last winter, after a trial which gained international prominence, wore unseated. Largo sections of the Press, notably the anti-Socialistic papers, lamented the act on the ground that it contravened democracy. The same memhers received overwhelmingly large majorities in the byelections ljeld recently, their constituencies bein£ notably socialistic centres of Xew York city. The Legislature was convened, ajid again expelled the Socialists, during a stormy scene, full of bitter, vitriolic denunciations.— (A. and XZ.)
