AMERICA HEADS THE LIST. ENGLAND IN FOURTH PLACE. AUSTRALASIANS HANDICAPPED (By Cable.—"Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, August 31. The Olympic Games have concluded: except the football, rawing and equestrian events. The total points are officially announced as follow: America 210, Finland 104, Sweden 95, England 04, France 33, Auetralia 5, New Zealand 5. King Albert presented the prizes.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.) Parker, the Australian walker, interviewed, said the Australians were not exactly outclassed, but the representatives of the winning countries were practically on the spot and carefully trained I for months, while the Australians only ! had .five weeks in a strange land, to the , food to w,hich they were unUßed. They j were entirely uncoached for eight and j a-half weeks, and had a trainer only in' ;thc last fortnight. Parker emphasised 1 the point that if Australia in future! desires to shine.at the Olympic Games | she must send a team in ample time. The I Americans arrived and were trained to the pink of perfection sufficiently early; to accustom themselves to local" condf- i tions.
