WEEK-END FIRES.
DWELLING AND AUCTION MART .URNITTTRE DAMAGED. A tire which broke out last evening in the rooms at the back of Messrs. Wickins and SutelifTc's furniture mart in Upper Symonds Street did about £-*oo to £500 damage. The occupants of the dwelling portion of the premises (Mr. and Mrs. Thompson) were out at the time, and it is not known how the tire started. The city lire brigade soon had a couple of motors on the spot, and the ; tire was quickly put out. The place is i owned by Mr. Shelmerdinc. of Karangaj hape Po'ad. and was insured for £700 lit j tiio South Mritish Insurance Company. | Messrs. Wickins and Sutcliffc had their 'stock insured in the Norwich I'nion for | £200.
Through a barrel of fat catching alight a small lire was caused on Saturday evening in a shed at the back of-the shop occupied by Mr. 11. E. Olding, butcher, (•rev Lynn. Very little damage was done.
A fence on fire iv Lancing lload. Edendale, resulted in the Mount Albert fire brigade receiving a call yesterday afternoon.
