Of these there are now only , live left, which, it is anticipated, will be taken up during the present month. The Department will then have to consider acquiring further space for the private box lobby, and unless an encroachment, is made on the mail room, which at present is none too large, additions will have to be made to the building. If it is the intention of the. Department to allow the chief post office to remain in its present position, then the question of big extensions should bu immediately considered, for with the rapid expansion of the town and disirirt, it might quite safely be anticipated that the business will again double itself within the next three or four rears.
