A somewhat significant case came before Mr. B. V- Cutteh, S.M., * at the Magistrate's Court this morn: ing, in the light of the ' steady influx of- Indians into New Zealand. C. Hannah was charged with, that being a party, to the cleanen, caretakers, and liftnien'e award, ho employed'one Dahya Lulu -as liftman and paid him 30/ per week instead of £2 15/, the award rate. Dahya Lula was also charged with having worked from October 29th, 1919, to March. 22nd, 1920, for 30/ per week, when the award rate was £2 15/.
