Notice Is hereby given that it is the Intention of-the following local authorities, namely, THE AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL, THE MOUNT EDEN BOROUGH COUNCIL, THE NEWMARKET BOROUGH COUNCIL, THE MOUNT ALBERT [BOUOUGH COUNCIL, THE ONEHUNGA BOROUGH COUNCIL, THE ONE TREK HILL ROAD BOARD, and THE MOUNT ROSKILL ROAD BOARD (hereinafter called '.'the local authorities") to apply to Hie Excellency the Governor-ln-Councll, under the provisions of the Tramwuya Act. 1908. and Its amendments (unless forbidden by the ratepayers in manner prescribed by the «ald Act) for an Order-ln-Council or Orders-in-Council varying the provisions of the respective existing Orders-in-Council relating to the Auckland City Electric Tramways by substituting for the maximum scale of fares and charges for the conveyance of passengers provided By the said respective Ordere-tn-CouncH the scale of fares and charges for the conveyance of passengers set out In the Schedule hereto. A draft of the proposed Order-ln-Councll is deposited and open for public inspection during office hours at the respective- offices of the local authorities. THE SCHEDULE, (a) The sections shall be: — CITY OF AUCKLAND. Between the Junction of Queen Street ■with Customs Street East and Customs Street West and the Junction of Pitt Street with Kurangabape Road. Between the Junction of Pitt Street with Karaugahape Koad and the Three Lamps. Between the junction of Queen Street with Customs Street We»t and the Junction of Patteeon Street with Beaumont Street. Between the Junction of Patteson Street with Beaumont Street and the junction of Jervois ttoad with Heme Bay Koad. Between the junction of Syunonds Street with Khyber Pass Road and Kingsland Station. Between Kingblaud Station and junction of New North Road with St. Luke'e Roatl. Between the junction of New Norfh Koad with St. Lute's Itoad and the Terminus. BOROUGH OF MOUNT EDEN. Between the junction of Symonds Street with Khyber Pass Road and the Drive to Mount Eden. Between the Drive to Mount Eden and the junction of Pencarrow Avenue with Mount Eden Road. Between the Junction of Symonds Street with Khyber Pass Road and the junction of Dominion Road with Valley Road. Between the junction of Dominion Road with Valley Road and the Junction of Dominion Road with EpuoiuMount Albert Road, (b) The maximum fares shall be:— For any one Journey not exceeding one section 2d For any one journey not exceeding two consecutive sections on one ticket 3d For any one journey not exceeding three consecutive sections on one ticket 4d For any one journey not exceeding four consecutive sections on one ticket 3d For any one journey not exceeding five consecutive sections on one ticket ed For any one journey not exceeding six eonseeii'ive sections on oae ticket 7d Extra fares in;., lie charged for special care running s|.t:ri:il trips outside the ordinary time-ti»l»'»e, but such cars shall be plainly distinguishable from the ordinary cars to the satisfaction of the Inspecting Engineer. Children not over three years of age in charge of an iidnlt (and not occupying a separate scat), free; but not more than two shall travel free In charge of one adult and any in excess of two shall pay half fare. Children over three and under twelve years of age to pay half fare.

All of twelve years and upwards to uuy full fare. Fares on Sundays, Christmas Day and Good Friday may be charged up to one and a-balf times the above rate*. Cars may be run to and from the foot of Wellesley Street, instead of the Junction of Queen Street and Customs Street, and the fare payable on such cars shall be tbe same as to or from the Junction of Queen Street with Customs Street, but all such cars shall be plainly marked and distinguished to the satisfaction of the Inspecting Engineer.
